Cordbox

Terms of Use

Last updated 31 August 2026

Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using Cordbox, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Who this agreement is with

This agreement is between you and Cordbox's developer only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for it.

What Cordbox is

Cordbox is a player. It connects, directly from your device, to IPTV playlists, portals, media servers, or network shares that you already have — Cordbox doesn't host, provide, bundle, verify, or have any relationship with the content available through the sources you add. It supports open, standard protocols (M3U, Xtream Codes, Stalker/Ministra, Enigma2/OpenWebIF, Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, DLNA/UPnP, SMB/NFS) the same way any general-purpose media player does.

Scope of license

Your license to use Cordbox is limited to a non-transferable license to use the app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

Your responsibility for your sources

You're responsible for having the legal right to access and view whatever content you connect Cordbox to. Cordbox has no way of knowing what a given source contains, and takes no responsibility for it — that's between you and whoever operates the source you've chosen to add.

Subscriptions and purchases

Cordbox offers a free, ad-supported tier and a paid monthly subscription that removes ads, purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Additional purchase options may be added in future. Billing, auto-renewal, free trials (where offered), and cancellation are all handled by Apple and governed by Apple's own Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which takes precedence over this section for anything it covers. You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in your Apple ID account settings.

Third-party services

Cordbox's free tier shows ads served by Google AdMob, and optionally sends the title you're watching to OMDb if you've set your own API key to look up ratings. Both are governed by their own terms, not these — see the Privacy Policy for how they're used.

Maintenance and support

The developer, not Apple, is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for Cordbox.

No warranty

Cordbox is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Streaming quality, availability, and compatibility depend entirely on the sources you connect to and your own network — Cordbox can't guarantee any of it will work reliably, or at all, for a given source or device. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app to you; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app.

Product claims

The developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to Cordbox or your possession and/or use of it, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.

Intellectual property

In the event of any third-party claim that Cordbox or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, the developer, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.

You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cordbox and its developer aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, or issues with any third-party source, service, or network you connect to.

Termination

You can stop using Cordbox and delete it at any time. We may restrict access to the app in response to a genuine violation of these terms.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Third-party beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and that, upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple will have the right to enforce this agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.
